These double denarius coins are primarily bronze, with a thin coating of silver. They were produced during the Crisis of the Third Century, a period of time where the Roman Empire nearly collapsed due to frequent assassinations of emperors, barbarian incursions, and civil war. As a result of the instability and monetary inflation of the time, these coins which had once been made of primarily silver were debased to bronze coins with a thin coating of silver.

As with all coins we sell, we guarantee these coins' authenticity for life. Each coin will be shipped in a archival-quality Mylar flip, secured in a corrugated cardboard safety mailer. Free shipping via USPS First Class - arrives in 2-5 business days.
