2nd Century A.D. Emperor Trajan Roman Gold Aureus, NGC VF, Genius / Bonus Eventus

A small gold coin produced during the Roman Empire under the Emperor Trajan (r. 98-117 A.D.). The coin has moderate wear and a strong, well-centered strike. The coin measures 19mm in diameter and weighs 6.83g. 


The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of Emperor Trajan, while the reverse features the Roman god/personification Bonus Eventus ("good outcome", a god of agriculture and success). This coin is professionally authenticated and graded by NGC to be in Very Fine (VF) condition.
